FAQs
Short answers about who Sensus is for, what it asks, and how the report and your clinician fit in.
Adults aged 18 and over who have a diagnosis of schizophrenia or a related psychotic disorder and are under the care of a clinician. It is not a test for whether someone has schizophrenia.
About 20 minutes every four weeks, on any phone or computer. You answer short published questionnaires about what you have been noticing, your mood, side-effects, pain, sleep, and whether you have been able to take your medicine. Every third check-in adds about 15 minutes on everyday life, motivation, how you see your illness and treatment, and alcohol or drug use.
No. Sensus keeps a dated record of how you are doing so you and your clinician can see what is changing. It never diagnoses and never tells you to start, stop or change a medicine. Please share your report with your doctor and decide together.
The check-in pauses at once and shows how to reach help: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911 in an emergency. You can carry on or stop, and your answers are kept either way.
You see your own report. If you joined through your clinician with their code, your clinician sees the same record. A family member you invite answers their own questions and never sees yours.
A plain-language report shows each part of the picture and how it has moved since you began, beside the things that happened in your life. You can save it, print it, or take it to your next appointment.
When a check-in is given in the office, your clinician can open a version with guideline prompts from NICE and CANMAT and, if their practice has switched it on, a prepared medicine comparison to discuss with you. No doses are shown, and decisions are made together.
On the first screen of the check-in, in the box marked Clinician code. Choose Take Assessments, then Through my clinician.
No. Never stop or change a medicine without talking to the person who prescribed it. The report is for a conversation with your clinician.
They are published, validated instruments, used unaltered and scored the way their authors published them. The Science tab lists each one, its evidence and who owns it. Instruments still awaiting permission are marked pending.
If you or someone you know is in danger right now, do not wait. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911 in an emergency. The NAMI HelpLine is 1-800-950-6264.
